Top gear
[edit]Hi Dreadstar (and sorry if this is the wrong place for this, I'm not familiar with everything Wiki). According to edit logs you were the one that semi-protected List of Top Gear Episodes. Is it possible to see archived requests for page protection to read the justification the applicant used to obtain article protection? MrCrackers (talk) 18:14, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- There are no archived requests for semiprotection on those Top Gear articles; the investigation was kicked off from an AIV report, which led to the discovery that multiple anon users had been disrupting various Top Gear-related articles. Rather than blocking various IP-hopping vandals, it was better to semi-protect the target pages. You can respond here, I've got your talkpage watchlisted. Dreadstar ☥ 18:47, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. My opinion on the matter was that most of the IP editors were making good faith edits that were just wrong (for example, adding "Best of" compilation episodes to the table is understandable, but not right). 94.168.83.52 was the IP that was being the most disruptive by far. - Persistently making good faith edits that are wrong becomes disruptive at a certain point, which I think was reached on the TG articles. Hopefully when sprotection expires, things will remain calm. Dreadstar ☥ 19:10, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
